Peace as only God gives...

One of my favorite verses in the Bible is found in the Gospel of John. It speaks of the overwhelming peace of God. As human beings, we cannot fully comprehend overwhelming peace. But God grants it FREELY to us!

'Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled nor let them be afraid...' (John 14:27)(NKJV). God's peace...the peace that passes ALL understanding. Can we even begin to grasp that concept?

I have been in church for many years, I have studied the Bible for many years, but I am only beginning to experience the peace of God that does surpass my understanding. My prayer for you today (and throughout this prayer journey) is that you begin to get a sense of God's peace in your heart and in your life.

D-Day to Labor Day prayer journey...

As we take the time to honor the veterans who landed in Normandy, France in 1944, I am also reminded of a greater (spiritual) battle being waged against our souls. Just as the Allied troops faced incredible odds against the Axis troops, we face incredible odds against an invisible but very powerful enemy.
The interesting part about the spiritual battle is that is fought on our knees in prayer. Starting today I am going on a personal prayer journey. While I know my personal journey has seen more valleys than hills recently, I am hopeful that the Lord will open doors (literally and spiritually) for me and my family. But I am also prayerful for my family and friends who are in their own spiritual quests.
Day One is about focus: getting everything in order for the journey. If you have a need that I can pray for in the journey, leave a message for me.

Summer prayer journey

A lot has been going on in my life lately and I realize the only way to calm the turmoil is to put my focus on God answering prayers. My own journey of faith has been challenged recently with huge transitions.

I am hopeful for the future for all that I will come in contact this summer. My prayer is also that I find resolution to my current need, which is to secure a teaching position for the fall.

The summer journey is not about me; it is about quieting my heart and mind and seeking His heart and mind.

New year, new plans...

As I begin the journey of a new year, I am filled with anticipation and wonder what the new year will bring. I am not one to make 'resolutions', but I do like to set goals for myself.

I finished a 3 1/2 year journey through graduate school and received a degree in teaching. One of my goals for the year is to secure a full - time teaching position for this fall.

I have also placed challenges upon myself to be physically, fiscally and spiritually stronger this year as well. My passion for godly living is there. I simply desire to strengthen my faith more. I am excited to see what 2012 brings.
